PEDOPHILIA FIGHTING TOOL GETS INTERNET
Brasilia, November 12, 2009 - Starting today, Web surfers who come across content suspected of child pornography, hate crimes and genocide may report, anonymously, through the electronic pages of the online form on the website of the Federal Police Department ( www.dpf.gov.br ). The launch of the new system will occur during a news conference at Police Headquarters In BrasÃlia, soon to 15h.
Complaints will be processed by the systems of SaferNet, responsible for centralizing the receipt, processing, routing and tracking online news of crimes against human rights committed over the Internet. The new form of complaints is the result of Statement of Cooperation signed between the Federal Police, the Special Secretariat for Human Rights of the Presidency, the Internet Management Committee in Brazil and SaferNet during the World Congress III against Sexual Exploitation of Children and Teens, last year.
One of the goals of the Term Cooperation is to centralize reports of child pornography, hate crimes and genocide in order to expedite the flow of processing and forwarding of complaints and the investigation by federal agents, the identification of authorship and possible punishment for criminals who use the Internet to commit unlawful acts.
Before the implementation of new system developed by the team of Information Technology SaferNet, analysis of complaints by the Federal Police was done manually. The new tool allows automatic filtering of the records of possible crimes, helping to streamline procedures, avoid duplication and streamline the investigation of cyber crimes against human rights in the country.
During the launch of the new system, representatives of the Federal Police Department and SaferNet will be available to the press to provide more information about the partnership, including the latest indicators and statistics of the problem in the country.
